1. Information We Collect
When you create a Momentm account, we collect your name, email address, and optionally a profile avatar. When you use the platform, we collect usage data such as pages visited, features used, products followed, and interactions made. We may also collect device information — including browser type, operating system, IP address, and referring URLs — to help us improve the platform and detect abuse. If you publish a product, we collect the details you provide in your product profile, including descriptions, links, and images. Payment information is collected by our payment processor (Stripe) and we do not store raw card data.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to provide, maintain, and improve the Momentm platform — including creating and managing your account, personalising your feed and recommendations, sending product update notifications, and processing deal transactions. We use aggregated and anonymised usage analytics to understand how features are used and to guide product decisions. We may use your contact information to send service-critical emails (account confirmations, password resets, billing receipts) and, if you opt in, our product digest newsletter. We use behavioural signals to detect and prevent fraud, spam, and policy violations.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We share data with a limited set of service providers who help us operate the platform: Stripe (payment processing), Amazon Web Services (cloud infrastructure and file storage), and PostHog (anonymised analytics). Each provider is bound by a data processing agreement and may only use your data to provide their services to us. We may disclose personal information if required by law, court order, or regulatory authority. In the event of a company merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction with appropriate notice given to affected users.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct inaccurate data, and to request deletion of your account and associated data. You may also request a machine-readable export of your data at any time from your Account Settings page. If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to object to processing and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@momentm.build with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will respond within 30 days.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will permanently delete your personal information within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (for example, transaction records for tax purposes, which are retained for 7 years). Anonymised and aggregated analytics data — which cannot identify you — may be retained indefinitely for platform improvement purposes. Public content such as product profiles, updates, and reviews may remain visible to others after account deletion unless you explicitly request removal before deleting your account.
7. Security
We take the security of your data seriously. All data transmitted between your browser and Momentm is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3. Data stored in our databases and file storage is encrypted at rest using AES-256. We conduct periodic security audits and penetration tests and promptly remediate identified vulnerabilities. Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel using multi-factor authentication. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware, in accordance with applicable data protection law.
